CHOOSE THE HANDMADE HERBAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS PERFECT FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE.

Dermatologists agree good skin care must include and balance the 5 basic skin cleansing functions which are:
1. Cleansing. Dissolving surface debris, oils. Drawing out toxins, lifting away cosmetic product build-up.
2. Exfoliating. Lifting off dry, dead skin cells.
3. Polishing. Exposing and stimulating the bright, glowing layer of skin beneath the dead dry cells.
4. Nourishing. Delivering vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients to this new layer of skin.
5. Moisturizing. Enveloping the new skin in a soft blanket of moisture.

But each skin type will look and feel better when the right products are used for each step. What's your skin type? Does it shift in Summer and Winter? Many skins behave differently in different climates. So the change of seasons may mean adjusting your skin care routine. Just makes sense, right?

In addition, there are strong signs that ethnicity is a factor in one's potential to develop rosacea or pre-rosacea. In a separate survey by the Society, 33 percent of respondents reported having at least one parent of Irish heritage, and 27 percent had a parent of English descent. Other ethnic groups with elevated rates of rosacea, compared with the U.S. population as a whole, included individuals of Scandinavian, Scottish, Welsh or eastern European descent.

Rosacea Triggers: In addition to medical therapy, rosacea patients can improve their chances of maintaining remission by identifying and avoiding lifestyle and environmental factors that may trigger flare-ups or aggravate their individual conditions. Identifying these factors is an individual process, however, because what causes a flare-up for one person may have no effect on another. Below is a list of common rosacea trigger factors that may affect various individuals. The first was compiled from patient histories, and the second lists results of a patient survey by the National Rosacea Society.

Look at this list of Rosacea Triggers. It becomes pretty clear. Stay out of harsh anything ... emotional upheaval, food and weather. Stay cool. Be moderate. Boring but effective.

Take control of your rosacea and improve your chances of maintaining remission! Choose gentle, natural skin care. Make lifestyle choices that won't trigger flare-ups. While the list of potential rosacea triggers in various individuals may be endless, a survey of 1,066 rosacea patients found that the most common factors included the following: The list may not include everything that may cause a flare-up, but they may be helpful in determining one's own trigger factors. Rosacea patients are encouraged to keep a diary of daily activities or events and so you can correlate them to any flare-ups you may experience.

YOU HAVE OILY, ACNE-PRONE SKIN IF YOUR SKIN IS...

...Prone To Breakouts, blackheads or blemishes on your face, chest or back...at any age. Oily skin may or may have large pores.
...Often Excessively Rosy, Ruddy Or Reddish on the cheek area and across the nose.
... Excessively Oily To The Touch. Because of the hormonal shifts of adolescence, oily skin is common in teenagers, but it can occur at any age. In general, skin tends to become dryer with age. The flow of sebum or oil increases during adolescence and starts decreasing with age. During pregnancy and menopause, hormonal imbalances can also upset the oil balance and increase the activity of sebaceous glands. The great advantage of oily skin is that it ages at a slower rate than other skin types!
...Fresh oil production shows on your skin with three hours of washing. Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.
... Excessively Waxy Indicating A Build-Up Of Sebum. Exfoliation is great. Stripping is bad. Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. They cause the upper layers of the skin to shrink. This restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and breakouts.

Factors For Oily Skin: Heredity, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, birth control pills, certain cosmetics, humidity and hot weather.
Oily Skin Loves: Regular exfoliation and manual microdermabrasion treatments to remove all dead, dry skin cells. That ensures that only fresh, new skin that is being cleansed and moisturized. Daily cleansing with super gentle products. Light moisturizing with super light lotions that are high in water content with effective amounts of skin loving fatty acids (plant oils) and serums. Protection from sun, wind, salt spray and other environmental damage.

YOU HAVE COMBINATION SKIN IF YOUR SKIN IS...

...a combination of both oily and dry skin. There is a greasy center panel consisting of nose, forehead and chin and a dry panel consisting of cheeks, mouth and the areas around the eyes.
...normal to dry feeling in the Spring and Fall with the oily part will be concentrated in the T-zone, the area across your forehead and down your nose and chin.
...increasingly oily in the Summer. You will be conscious of increased oil productions.

Factors for combination skin: Combination skin is very common, and it should be treated as if it were two different types of skin. Some areas of your face feel 'tight' after washing. These same areas may also look flaky and dull or feel rough. But, by contrast, in other areas, typically the T-zone, your skin looks shiny, feels greasy and is prone to pimples and blackheads.

Combination Skin Loves: Specialized care for each area. The combination skin should be cared for as if it is a combination of two different skin types. Care for the dry part of the skin using the products provided for dry skin. The oily part of the skin should be cared for using the products for oily skin. Gently cleanse, nourish and lubricate the dry skin with moisturizers and creams regularly. The oily part needs to be deeply cleansed and toned with regular application of toner. Both the dry and greasy areas need moisturizing.
...a mild cleanser on your entire face up to twice a day.
...a good moisturizer on the dry areas. - Moisturizers work by either increasing the penetration of water into the skin or by reducing the rate at which water is evaporating from the skin surface.
...balancing products that normalize your skin and have anti-inflammatory properties.
...good exfoliators that, when applied to the skin, help remove dead skin cells (exfoliate), giving a younger appearance.
...oil-absorbing makeup on oily areas to control shine.
    ...a sunscreen, minimum SPF 30.
