Dear Laura Way,
I am writing this email as a reference letter for Jody Byrne and her DayBreak Lavender Farm.
A brief history of how I know Jody and the DayBreak Farm.... A few years ago, a few friends of mine gave me a hostess gift of soaps from the DayBreak Farm. The product made an imprint on me because of the quality, attention to detail, and the fact that it was Ohio made. My husband and I went to the Burton Apple Festival not only to partake in the event, but we also knew that the DayBreak Farm would be present. We had every intention of buying more products and getting to know the people behind the products.
The love affair continued with their range of product and as well with the people behind DayBreak. At that time, we were given an "About Us" sheet giving us some background information about Jody and the DayBreak Farm. At that point, I realized that DayBreak would be a strong candidate for our company to use as corporate gift baskets for 2005. Before we made a decision, my husband and I wanted to actually venture out to the Farm to meet Jody in person and get a full understanding of her products and offerings.
When I met with Jody Byrne at DayBreak Lavender Farm, I was impressed with:
1. Her interpersonal skills...listening, and spending time to truly "get" what my company was about and what I wanted for our VIP customers.
2. Her flexibility...being able to adapt her set business offerings and packages to suit what our company needed
3. Her "can do attitude"....she really never spoke in "no's" more in possibilities and had the determination to meet our needs for our VIP customers
4. Her "responsiveness"...when I left the DayBreak Farm that day and I later contacted Jody to proceed with developing a quote, she always got back to me same day with all the information that I requested.

5. Her Vision...as a fellow female entrepreneur, I admire and respect the level of energy and commitment Jody applies towards her business. Given the fact that I have an MBA in Entrepreneurship, I have met a lot of entrepreneurs and I can sum it up with there are two types of entrepreneurs those who do it for the money and those who do it for the love of their product/service. Jody belongs to the latter. As they say, "do what you love, and the money will follow."
This past holiday season, I ordered 25 baskets through DayBreak. My customers were thrilled to receive them not only because it wasn't yet another food basket in an already overloaded food holiday season, but for the usefulness and quality of the products. They understood that I cherish them enough to send them some different and something very special. I joked with my husband that many of my VIP clients (who are mostly male) called in to thank me for the gifts but also stated that they were upset because their wives confiscated the baskets and were using the products themselves!! Women know quality!!
The ordering process was fast, diligent, and very well documented so that I felt in the loop with the progress of my orders.
If you haven't had the chance to use DayBreak Lavender Farms products, I highly recommend that you do. You will not only love them but you will have the appreciation for the commitment to quality and heart that goes into them.
