But let's go beyond the scent ...
Why is Virgin Coconut Oil soooooooo great for your skin?
The answer is ANTIOXIDANTS!
Most mass produced creams and lotions are water and a highly refined vegetable oil devoid of all natural protective antioxidants. Virgin Coconut Oil is loaded with anti-aging antioxidants that stop wrinkle-making free radicals in their tracks. VCO works like this ...
Our skin is made up of connective tissues which give our skin strength and elasticity. Thanks to strong connective fibers , when we are young and healthy the skin is smooth, elastic and supple. As we age these fibers are subjected to continuous free-radical attack. As a result, connective tissues lose both elasticity and strength. The skin loses its ability to hold itself together and begins to fold, sag and become wrinkle. Once young, soft and smooth the skin turns dry and leathery.
Once a free-radical reaction is started it can cause a chain reaction which produces more free radicals, which ultimately damages thousands of cells. The only way our body has to fight them is with antioxidants. When a free radical comes into contact with an antioxidant, the chain reaction is stopped. For this reason, it is good to have plenty of antioxidants in our cells and tissues to protect us. The number of antioxidants we have in our tissues is determined to a large extent by the nutrients in our diet. Having anti-oxidants in skin care products is important and guess which plant oil is loaded to the gills with antioxidants? Right! Virgin Coconut Oil.
AND ... the small molecular structure of coconut oil allows for easy absorption through the skin or hair, giving it a soft, smooth texture. It makes an ideal styler for dry, coarse hair. And a soothing ointment for the relief of dry, rough and wrinkled skin. Psoriasis and eczema suffers often see great improvements in these distressing conditions.
Add to all that our luxurious Ghanaian Shea Butter and you have one skin-loving Luxury Bar, good for all skin types in all climates!
100% Biodegradable & Veggie! Added to a rich blend of Coconut Milk, Coconut Water, Cream of Coconut, Ghanaian unrefined shea butter, virgin coconut oil, babassu palm oil, rice bran oil, cocoa butter, castor oil. Coconut fragrance, Vanilla Concrete, Floral waxes of Mimosa, Tuberose and Jasmine. Honey & Hay Concretes.
All DayBreak soaps are handcrafted from scratch in small quantities using traditional cold process methods. Our unique and luxurious formula starts with a large portion of skin-loving olive oil or virgin coconut oil and more -- all chosen for their lathering and cleansing properties. You will see some bars with rice bran oil for silky smooth skin, and lavish amounts of Ghanaian shea, cocoa, mango, and even aloe butters for their skin conditioning and therapeutic qualities. Some bars are formulated with goatsmilk. The result? A lush, creamy lather that gently cleanses and nourishes, leaving skin soft and silky.
Like Cleopatra's famed milk-baths, milk in soap provides extra moisturizing qualities and a creaminess that can't be matched with just oils. We often use goat's milk, which is indeed really lovely in soap. But this bar uses pure, 100% organic coconut cream, coconut milk and coconut water. They give extra moisturizing qualities, plus a BIG extra - super bubbly lather! I'm not sure whether it's the extra sugar content of the coconut cream, or the coconut itself that makes the extra lather...but it sure does. Extra creamy...extra bubbly! Extra moisturizing!!
Face, hands, body. Elegant guest bathroom hand soap. Shower or any cleansing use.
Handmade Soap Care: Feel free to cut your bars into chunks. They will keep forever. Store in dark, airy spot like a linen closet or lingerie drawer. Do not store in Ziploc or any kind of baggie or air tight container. Soap breathes! To help your handmade soap last as long as possible, keep in a well-drained soap dish and allow to dry between uses. If left standing in water or in a direct stream of water, the lifespan of the bar will be shortened.
Wildcrafted Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is luxurious and rare! And very high in anti-oxidants. Testing done in independent laboratories reveals higher levels of phenolic antioxidants than other coconut oils.
DayBreak’s VCO is wildcrafted and hand-milled in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines. The fresh coconut meat is shredded (wet milled), and then cold-pressed using the water from inside the coconuts to make coconut milk. The milk is then allowed to sit for about half a day, while the oil naturally separates from the heavier water. The oil is then filtered from the coconut meat. To preserve all the natural minerals no chemical or high-heat treatment is used. DayBreak sources VCO made by families who are coconut farmers using old-fashioned traditional methods that have been used in the Philippines for hundreds of years. Our coconut trees and family producers are certified organic according to strict USDA standards.
