I am technically allergic to all of the Poisons ... that would be Ivy, Sumac and Oak. No matter where I get it, it goes to my face and spreads like wildfire. And then come the steroids.
This is an aggressive regimen. But it works like a charm. And if you - or your kids - are highly sensitive, it's a godsend!! I was exposed on a Sunday, it never spread and by Thursday I was really pretty clear. Just the dried flakes peeling off. A first for me ... and one I want to share with you. And I skipped the steroids my doc prescribed.
Here is the regimen I followed that shortened the arc and halted the speading immediately. This kit may be ordered as an entire kit or, if you already own some of the pieces, do feel free to order just what you need individually. (scroll to bottom to order one or more pieces)
First, the minute I realized I made contact, I flew into action with an all-natural arsenal of my DayBreak products. I didn't want to go the steroids route again for a host of reasons. Here's what I used and to assemble your kit you will need:

UPON CONTACT... Remove the clothes you are wearing and wash them in hottest water. DO NOT SHOWER ... it can spread the urushiol oil, the oil that causes the rash that makes the blisters and itching. Urushiol is extremely stable and will stay potent - essentially forever. So it must be effectively removed instantly.
The safest first step is to wipe down any potentially exposed areas with Isopropyl alcohol. This will cut the urushiol , Only after the alcohol wipe should you wash. In cold water, wash all affected areas with a heavy lather of Grandma's Old Fashioned Lye Soap. This will wash away any remaining urushiol.
If you see small blisters, here is my twice daily Fight Back Regimen…
1. Every morning, wipe again with Isopropyl alcohol and then wash with Rose 'n Rhassoul Cleanser. This is the gentle cleansing. The creamy form of Rhassoul will help dry the exposed area and limit blistering. If your doctor has prescribed a cream apply it now to clean skin.
2. Every evening, soak with a 1:4 solution of Domeboro Solution available at your drugstore. Domeboro dries out blistered, oozing, weeping skin while providing soothing relief. This product was used on my when I was hospitalized with poison ivy; it's an oldie and goldie. It contains Aluminum Acetate and Dextrin. In terms of safety, the Environmental Working Group ranks the first a 3 and the second a 0 out of 10 for hazard risks. So I feel safe in using something non-natural to fight off an even greater risk. Domeboro is IDEAL for compressing blisters that form from poison ivy / oak / sumac, chicken pox and shingles. Soak gauze compresses in the liquid and just rest them on the blistered areas. Do this for at least 30 minutes. Watching TV will pass the time. And it feels good.
After your soak, wash with Microcrystal Refining Cream followed by a good hand lather and direct application of Rhassoul Exfoliating Polish. This will help further dry out the blistered, weepy areas. If the itch wakes you in the night, use the compresses again but toss the liquid in the morning. Do not re-use left over Domeboro liquid. Toss it. Use fresh compresses.
