I am Jody Byrne and I believe in handmade soaps and botanical bath & body products for their beauty, artistry, healthfulness and environmental sanity! This planet is too precous to pollute! And our lives are precious & short … we must savor every minute! DayBreak handmade soaps and botanical bath & body products are created to fill the small corners of everyday life with joy, beauty, serenity and health. We mean for our all natural and handmade soaps and botanical bath & body products to bring joy and healing to your daily bathing ritual.

I founded DayBreak Lavender Farm out of a desire to fill my retirement years with the joy of making beautiful everyday experiences that delight the senses and nurture the body all while respecting our land and all who live on it with us. I also wanted to establish lavender farming in Northeast Ohio. Our lavender fields are two acres with 1500 plants of 13 varieties. We grow organic lavender for cooking, lavender for crafter and, of course, lavender for use in our handmade soaps & botanical bath & body products. Our herb garden is largely perennial which allows me to change my mind and redesign every year!! We grow 5 varieties of Sage, 8 varieties of Thyme, 6 of Mint and row upon row of Rosemary! Tons of Chamomile! Our meadow fills my apron with Elder flowers and berries, Calendula, Milk Thistle, Mallows, Dandelions, Clover, Fumitory ... we love our small slice of heaven!

In 2004, DayBreak Lavender Farm was officially designated by the Ohio State Senate as "… the first lavender farm in Ohio's history." If you would like to read the proclamation, we are proud to share it with you.

Here at Daybreak Lavender Farm, we believe that loving, organic lavender farming and herb farming is a fine way to honor the earth. We follow the Native American 7th Generation Philosophy ... Working our land so that in seven generations it will be better than it is today. So all DayBreak soaps, bath & body products are handmade with our own organic lavender, botanicals and herbs harvested from our fields where they are grown with no herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. We think that matters.

We also believe in the art of handmade soap, bath & body products. 100% of everything you will see here is made by us … with our hands, hearts and minds. All of our soaps have a sculptural quality. We make handmade stained glass soaps, ergo-dynamic hand-shaped soaps, big bad men's soaps with exotic ingredients like Vetiver (Napoleon's favorite scent) Binchotan Bamboo Charcoal from Japan and marvelous complexion care soaps like our world-famous Rhassoul Clay From Morocco. We also make historically accurate period soaps from different eras in history such as our Lavender Sage Soap Cakes. And we enjoy crafting classic soaps like our Lavender Castile with 87% pure Extra Virgin Olive oil. Handmade soap is art, is sculpture -- all about line, shape, texture, form, volume and color -- but only hand made soaps, only this art form has the added pleasure of fragrance!
